Patricia Barganier, former Partner
and National Director of Unclaimed Funds at Ernst &
Young LLP, founded Barganier & Associates to bring
a broad range of solutions and services to the unclaimed
funds area.
With a total of 28 years of business experience, with
increasing levels of responsibility, Patricia worked for
10 years in the consulting environment focused solely
on unclaimed property, while serving clients within
all industries.
Patricia is a frequent guest speaker on unclaimed funds
including the 2004 Interstate Tax Seminar, the 2003 Lorman
Seminars in Cincinnati, Ohio, Atlanta, Georgia and Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, the 2003 and 1999 Paul Hartman Forum at
Vanderbilt University, the 2003 Broadband Tax Institute,
the 2003 and 2002 Texas Society of CPA’s annual
meeting, the 2002 and 2001 Committee on State Taxation
Fall Audit Session, the 2000 Committee on State Taxation
Unclaimed Property Seminar and the Masters in Taxation
Program at Georgia State University. She is a recognized
expert on unclaimed funds as quoted in Business Week and
USA Today.
She is a graduate of a year long executive
leadership development program, Georgia 100. She was
recognized by her peers and leadership of Ernst &
Young in 2003 as a national Finalist in the Rosemarie
Meschi Award and in 1999 as an Outstanding Driver Award
for the National Tax practice of the Firm. Patricia
serves the Atlanta community through her involvement
on the Advisory Council of Cool Girls, a non profit
organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty
for inner city girls between the ages of 6 – 12
and as a member of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society
of the United Way of Atlanta. She obtained an undergraduate
degree in accounting and a master of taxation degree
from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
