Q.3
What type of Unclaimed Property must be remitted to the state?

A.3 Traditionally, states have focused their efforts in enforcing unclaimed property laws regarding abandoned inheritances, bank deposits, royalties, securities and dividends. Due to tax cuts and other diminished fee collections, many states have recently begun to aggressively expanded their enforcement efforts against intangible property, including; liabilities for un-cashed payroll checks, un-cashed refund or vendor checks, unclaimed credit balances, and, in many states, un-cashed gift certificates and gift cards, as well as rebates.
